Coltishall – worth visiting?

In view of the planned closure of Coltishall and the retirement of the Jaguar squadrons, I am thinking of visiting the base for some spotting and photography. My plan is to visit in October. I know this is dodgy from a weather standpoint. But then again the UK is notorious for weather all year round. My second option is May.

I am open for suggestions regarding best spots, lodging etc.
