Flew VZ from BHX-FAO and back over the weekend to look at some property on the Algarve.
Our A320 was captained on the outbound leg by a chap called Mason, very old school looking, handlebar ‘tach and plummy accent.
A nice touch, though. he greeted everyone onboard, took the cabin crew phone and told a few jokes to us all before retreating to his office.
The one liner I liked best, On landing in FAO he saig “Well done to my first officer for that landing, I flew with him last week and it felt like we had been shot down!!!!”.
Nice Touch.
