I too laugh at most things, I believe PC to be the blight of all society. Any humour about and amongst adults usually has some grounding.

But, anything against kids is just not on.

It beats me how any decent person could ever be involved in broadcasting this. But I’ve always found it fascinating how differently people see humour.I love Flight of the Conchords, while Mr. Bee just doesn’t get it.He finds The Vicar of Dibley hilarious, but it’s just obvious and predictable to me.But seeing people fall over on You’ve been framed makes us both laugh.Odd,isn’t it .

Currently sitting on a large floating lump of metal about an hours chopper ride to the North West of Karratha, Western Australia, trying to revive a flagging oil well. On the rig we have about 100 guys. Of that 100 there is a broad mix of backgrounds, histories and personalities. Humour is a necessity on these places, you won’t survive without it, and sometimes it can transcend what is percieved to be normally acceptable bounds, but that’s the nature of the beast.

What I can say however, is that even in this last bastion of male domination and bawdiness, there has been nothing but widespread disgust at the sketch. Aything that can illicit that response in this environment, must be considered disgusting.

Ya know, I can pretty much laugh at anything, its the only way that I can keep my sanity. But, this skit is just sick, who in the hell came up with that idea? I hope to God those weren’t real terminally ill kids, but they sure looked like it, then again, I barely watched the whole skit so who knows.

On the state of comedy, there was this guy back in the 70s I believe from over here in the states from Baltimore, MD. He was know for doing completely CRAZY things to get a laugh. I once had a friend, not much of a friend anymore and you’ll know why, tell me about the end of his one movie, where he literally bends over and eats real dog crap, real, not fake. First I figured it was a joke and it wasn’t real, still frigging stupid though, just trying to be disgusting. She then informs me that it was real dog crap, and said “Isn’t that funny?” “His complete contempt for society, he just does whatever he wants, its hilarious isn’t it?”

Needless to say, we got in an argument and I never looked at her the same way again, some may call me crazy, but the argument covered pretty much all the bases, all because some jackass ate dog crap. Sad part is, it seems like more and more comedy is going this way, and it isn’t the right direction.

I’m not smiling anymore 🙁 🙁 🙁

That’s disgusting and bloody well outragous!!!! What sort of person would think that funny??? Makes you wonder why sketches like that are even allowed on Comedy shows.

Its both sick and pathetic, But it also sums up so much comedy these days, Comedy has always been about moving boundaries etc, Trouble is nowadays most of the boundaries are either no no’s because of race, sex etc or they all been done anyway, So “comedians” are looking elsewhere. So to even be noticed they need to go out and shock.

The trouble is I don’t think shocking people works on a funny level and in this day and age you need to go a long way to shock people, This goes that long way but borders on pathetic rather than shocking.

I’ll tell you this. A squaddie will laugh at most things but even they would consider it totally sick and unacceptable
