A Qantas 744 had a brake fire recently after the Captain landed using brakes only instead of reverse thrust.
The crew decided on an emergency evacuation, and during this procedure one of the emergency slides was punctured by a high heel shoe
As far as i know the first thing you would tell people is remove your shoes. Any cabin crew out there that could shed some light on this.

That would only be a recommendation. Obviously safety is the controlling factor. I always only use reverse idle (unless more required for specific reasons) if it is likely to disturb locals sleeping. In the same way I generally try to delay gear selection on approach at night because the extra drag requires more engine thrust which is antisocial. We’re not all noisy hooligans!

They r not aloud to use reverse thrust between those hours, i believe that is ridiculous, because now you can see what happens now!

Apparently they can’t use reverse thrust between 11-30 pm and 6 am at Sydney Airport.

Sounds like there was some sort of other issue that would cause there to be a brake/tire fire in a modern airplane. Most anti-skid logic would prevent any sort of locked wheel.
That must have been one heck of a high heel if it punched a hole through the slide material. Security is worried about tweezers when women are passing through with something that sharp? wow.
