Hey – I assumed you were Belgian until I read further and found you’re from UK.
You seem to be into everything Belgian, even to having the Belgian flag on your postings – why?
By the way, I have also flown with Sabena to Brussels. I loved them and was really sorry when they went. I also liked Air France.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-05-02 AT 09:39 AM (GMT)]Antwerp is super (I remember not long ago that Geforce said he liked it!!) The people there are a little strange with their English though. The “English speakers” in Antwerp quite clearly couldn’t understand a word of spoken English and completely messed up my meal and drink order “mussels natuur” instead of mussels in garlic butter and tonic with a slice of lemon instead of “de Koninck”, which is the local Antwerp beer (and very nice it is too). The shops are good though and there is a superb beer shop near a food market (the shop is called “Bier Winkel” – highly original!!)
As for friendly helpful people, a woman in Gent helped me to buy a tram ticket last year because the ticket machine was in Dutch, in many places no one would have bothered. Waiters in cafes have stood and had conversations with us, never happens in UK. People in beer shops will usually talk, especially when I buy Westvleteren, which is rare, they wonder why I want it!!

>anywhere
There are some exceptions I have to say you, about all the people living in Antwerp and suburbs 🙂 they are 100 % asshole.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-05-02 AT 09:16 AM (GMT)]Oh no Gyrfalcon, I’m not Belgian. Why do I display the Belgian flag? Because I love Belgium, that’s why. The food is good, especially the fish and mussels and waffles. The towns are nice with nice architecture, like the Grand Place in Brussels, the Markt in Brugge and Antwerp and places. The people are the friendliest and most helpful I’ve met anywhere and I love Belgian aviation. I’m glad you liked Brussels and Sabena. Air France are okay too.
I almost forgot to mention the fact that Begian beer is the best beer in the world bar none.
