Just a quick question… In the past issue of Airliner World {september}, there was an advert in there for a special edition mag. that was in shops on the 22nd of August, entitled “Comet to Concorde”. Did anyone purhase this magazine?
I placed an order for a copy at my local newsagents, and he said today that he tried to order it and the supplier said there was no such magazine out? Which I know is not true othder wise it woulnd’t have been advertised.
I just think that he forgot to order it! I asked him over two and a half weeks ago. 🙁
I don’t even know if there is any copies still availiable??? 🙁 I have checked two different W.H Smiths, near to where I live but they haven’t anything, and its the same with all the local newagents to where I live. 🙁
Perhaps the Webmaster can help me with my problem.
Many Thanx. 🙂

RE: Comet to Concorde.
I’m not sure if aviation publications are expensive in the UK, or elsewhere for that matter, however, they’re quite pricey here, and although I love the magazine, Airliner World is quite costly. I’m sure this has to do with importing etc., etc.. It’s unfortunate though.
Thanks for the price conversion.

12 Canadian Dollars = £4.91 for anyone interested. This is 92p more than what we pay for it.

RE: Comet to Concorde.
We have it in Canada, however, at over $12 CAD to purchase (before tax) I refuse to buy it. I’m sorry but for $12 I had better get a complimentary beverage and bag of peanuts! Shame Key Publishing!

RE: Comet to Concorde.
I purchased mine from WHSmith two days ago and it really is quite spectacular – a brilliant poster is also included. For £3.99 I was really pleased.
There was also an advert for another magazine entitled “A Century of Flight” coming out in September/October (can’t remember which) and that has 200 pages for a mere £4.99 – definitely one to look out for :D.

RE: Comet to Concorde.
yep! :9
Does anyone know if Aircraft viewing is possible to non-passengers at Bristol, since the new terminal has been built there? I used to go there alot when I was like 8 years old and it was really good as you could get a brilliant view of the apron from the restaurant. Now, with Go being based there, I suppose theres quite a bit of traffic.
On the website, it looks as though there is aircraft taking-off & landing every 5 mins.
SUMMERY:
Can non-passengers view a/c at Bristol International Airport, Lulsgate, Bristol, Avon – maybe South Wales, England, UK (Should be UQ).
Thank-you
Respect!
Luke

RE: Comet to Concorde.
I got mine from WHSmith, In the Cribbs Causeway Mall, in Bristol, Avon, (or South Wales as it now may be called), in England, part of the United Kingdom) – Shouldn’t it be called the United Queendom, cos we have a Queen?
It’s very good, and includes a brilliant poster of some cockpits and a timeline.
Regards
Luke!

RE: Comet to Concorde.
Saab my newagent is hopeless. When the other AW specials came out, the Boeing and Airbuse ones, i asked him to order them, and guess what he forgot!!!! 🙁 .
I have to get them from him though as there are no other shops directly near me. But this time I have now decided to order my copy of comet to concorde directly from Key Publishing! 🙂
