I have noticed that this forum is not as good as it was when i joined, ther has been alot of unnessesary post /irrelevant post that have made the forum less enjoyable, such as flight reports and post heaps of pics which are all great but are better off suited in the general forum section.
As it says on the forum description:
“A forum to discuss the latest developments in the commercial market, including airline and airport news, photography, airport viewing and general topical aviation issues.”
Plus also there has been many other things that have made this forum a little less of a joy to visit!
But if you dont agree with what im saying please i invite you to tell me that im wrong i just though i should arise my opinion and see what others may think!

I think this thread has let everyone express their opinion.
That’s good now I’ve made my point and so has everyone else, now let’s have a break

I actually agree with BY767 and LBARULES.
We do need more members on these forums and that would then lead to more info and possibly better threads.
However, the very best members are those who post most of the best stuff(Ren Frew, T5, Wannabe Pilot, Wysiwig, Steve Rowell, KabirT etc.) although some of the newer members do post some good stuff from time to time. I certainly enjoy reading most threads on here that are actually started by new members as well as the older ones!!

Just checking …The spellinG!! errors and grammar on many reports beggars belief…so much for contemporay education these days!..Obviously many of you have not enjoyed the joys of travel in’comfort’..
You mean contemporary, surely? 😀

The turns threads take on here these days.
A new member with 1 post is equal to a member of 1000 posts, but a member with 1000 posts will care more for a forum where his time and energy has gone than a person with 1 post.
Thats my point!
By: MANAIRPORTMAD - 19th June 2004 at 22:54
exactly BY767, more members=more info! Thats what the forum is for
By: LBARULES - 19th June 2004 at 22:52
I’m not saying old members are are all fantastic, i’m just saying the members that Speedbird was calling moaners (Like Kabir,T5,Wannabe), are among the very best members of this forum, and in general, the members who have been here since the beginning are still among the best contributors to the forum.
By: BY767 - 19th June 2004 at 22:23
I would just like to add that it isn’t the older members that are the best, it’s the ones who come out with the best information, someone could have been a member here for 4 years and only posted 7 posts with about 3 words in each. I think I have made my point.
I agree completely with the above.
The older members do deserve respect but just because they have been here a long time doesn’t mean they’re fantastic. Although my posting number is quite low I had been reading the forum for quite some time before I joined, and also I don’t always post anything if I don’t have anything to say.
I understand your views about you don’t want this forum becoming like airliners.net which some would say has just got too big and intertational but saying that you don’t want new members anymore is the wrong way to look at it. We should make more of an effort to infrom new members here of how things are done here (not in a horrible/bossy way but friendlya and so they understand) and so that people don’t loose identity and it becomes too big. The forum does need new members. With just a few members it would get boring I think. With more members there’s more points of view/opinions, more ideas, more local airport news, more photos, more trip reports etc. It doesn’t mean more rubbish at all.

Im not an old member, nor am I a new member. I know some of these guys have been here for ages, I have been here for 3 years (ish). I have to agree with dartie here though. I am dreading the day this forum becomes another airliners.net, full of rubbish posts and full of lies. Thats in a way why I dont want more members in here, because the bigger the member list, the harder it is to control, and you can see airliners.net couldnt control that! Keep it to better stuff guys, no rubbish posts (because the few of you who like the rubbish posts ruin it for the rest of us).

lol im old member too lbarules lol…..
By: LBARULES - 19th June 2004 at 19:11
How can you start saying that?
The older members such as Kabir, A330, Ren Frew, Tenthije, Kev etc etc are the best members of the forum.
Give them a bit of respect please!
By: Speedbird744 - 19th June 2004 at 18:39
You are right, I am new, but I think that makes me the best person to tell you, the ‘older’ users, what you sound like.
I am a member of a few forums, and this is the only one where they argue over the fact there is a trip report sub-forum!
By: KabirT - 19th June 2004 at 14:02
It seems to me this forum is full of whingers!
‘Is this a good idea’ – to have a trip report forum – who cares? If people want to read and contribute to it, let them, if you don’t don’t touch it.
No one pays for this forum, so if you don’t like it, hard luck in my opinion.
who cares????? You are relativly new here so i guess you have no freegin idea. 😡

Isn’t this thread a bit out of “aviation realated issues” ? 😀
It may be but the reason why i posted it in here is because it is referring to the COMMERCIAL AVIATION SECTION it is ridiculous putting it in the General Section because it doesnt conern that section of these forums, and hence i wanted people who use this section to see hence me adding the thread here!

Just a quick question: What has travelling in comfort got to do with spelling and grammar?
By: Ren Frew - 18th June 2004 at 11:22

I guess we ain’t all regular Catherine Cookson’s (lol) 😀
