Compass, airport maps etc on board? I'm off to Heraklion!

Tomorrow I’m off to Heraklion (Crete). It will be a new experience, as:
-We will take off from runway 20 as there is a southern wind
-Thomas Cook (Condor) Boeing 767-300ER. For me Belgian, a 767 is exceptional.
-I’ve never been to Greece before.
-I hope the crew speaks at least English or Dutch!

So I have an airport map of Brussels. Will I get to security with that? ISn’t that a bit suspicous? What about a compass?

For the ones who want to follow my flights:

Be very, very careful spotting in Greece! Do you remember the plane spotters who had permission to visit airfields in Greece, but were still arrested and thrown in jail for taking photos of the aircraft. It’s not worth the risk.

The airport is not close to the beach so some spotting won’t be allowed by my parents. Our hotel is in Ammoudara, a village 5 km West of Iraklion, the airport being 3 km East. Maybe if their’s a bus line to some spotting location, but I doubt it, and the Greek are probably not familiar to spotters so maybe police will get nervous:).

Heraklion is not very big but they are a air-force base too and in Summer there are many airliners…
I think you get a chance for some good shots
