Question:
Dear mister, miss, Unfortunately I have a complaint. On Friday April 24th this year I had the pleasure to board flight SU 0135L from SVO to UKS. But before I’ll tell you about the flight, I’ll take you back to earlier that month. I was traveling with a friend of mine. He wanted to take the train from Moscow to Sevastopol. But I wanted to fly for tree reasons: 1. time (considerable less by plane) 2. flight with a Russian carrier 3. flight in a Russian designed plan Now my friend was quite hesitated to fly a Russian airline with Russian equipment. I really had to convince him that your airline is save to fly. So in the end he agreed and I made the reservation. I was trilled to discover that I would be on a TU-154. The day came we were to travel to the Ukraine. Up on arrival on Moscow – Sheremetyevo, I saw to my delight there were plenty of Tupolev Tu-154M to choose from. Unfortunately what park to the departure gate was anything but a Tupolev. It was a dull Airbus A319. As you can imagine I wasn’t happy about this. Because this would have been my chance to experience a Russian build plane, and especially an icon like the 154. I would not dare to fly an unsafe airline, and since you are taken the 154 out of service at the end of the year, I will probably never have a chance to fly one. And as an airplane buff, that will be a miss the rest of my life. Most passengers are quite obliviant when it comes to the plane in which they fly. I do realize that even IF another passenger even know what kind of plane they were taken they probably would welcome western equipment instead of Russian once. Unfortunately not me. The service on board made a bit up for this huge sort fall, because the stewardesses were nice efficient. The pilots were great, nice smooth landing. And the ride was comfortable. In essence a great airline to fly on. All of this couldnot made up for the fact there was no Tupolev to fly on. I was very disappointed with Aeroflot. I do hope there is a way you could make up for this shortfall. With kind regards, Jeroen Wilting
Answer:
Hello, in obedience to the requirements of both Russian Goverment and International Organizations Aeroflot is orderly withdrawing of Tupolev aircrafts. Even on destinations where Tupolev aircrafts are still operated, Aeroflot can change aircraft type depending on quantity of passengers onboard and other reasons (as it is stated in carriage contract). You sincerely regret disappointments you received.
Best regards,
Aeroflot Open Line.

No humor those Russians 😉

With a commercial scope I could actually see it being used somewhere. A Western enthusiast believes in Aeroflot with Russian equipment. Because I wrote some, which I meant all btw, nice things about them, which they haven’t picked up. !
Agreed. Definitely a case-study in there. The reply was almost ok I guess, but there was no attempt to react to the positive points which could have been reflected in the reply.

It made me laugh, and I have found some Aeroflot staff to have a very wicked sense of humour. Well, the ones that used to bring red fish over from Moscow to London for my wife did.

I fear it may have lost a little something in translation.
Either that, or the OP really does believe that Aeroflot’s first priority in rostering it’s fleet is to cater for the wishes of aviation enthusiasts.
Based on my own experience of my fellow ‘anoraks’, I wouldn’t entirely rule out the latter.
No translation though, I am not a native speaker, although you can recognize that it is not a serious complained. Of course it’s not.
If I would work in a department which deals with such complained it would put a smile upon my face, since normally I would have to deal with bloody fools, and I would have answered with some humor. But unfortunately the Ruskies lack it.

In all it was a nice experiment, just to see how they would react. Guess I have to go to look for the Dutch to get a nice reply :dev2:
Great airline, Aeroflot!
