The PC I am currently using for internet browsing is quite an old and slow machine therefore I want to swap my internet connection to my other PC, I am still on a dial-up modem connection with BT Openworld and will remain so on the new(ish) machine, the question is how do I swap my connection to my other PC?
If anyone can help I’d be grateful.

Just plug the phone line into your other computer and via the “My Computer” icon on your desktop click on dialup network icon just click on the Make new connection icon and name it, then put in the number your other computer dials, put in your username and password give it a test. Don’t delete the link in your old computer just incase, but the instructions should work and you shouldn’t have any problems (note the instructions above are for win 98 SE, but for any op sys all you are doing is creating a dial up connection link and giving it the three bits of info it needs… ie the number to dial, your user name and your password.)

As long as the computer you want to use has a modem, it’s a doddle. Just plug it into the phone line, dial up to the usual number with the same user name and password given to you by BT OpenWorld and away you go!
