Concorde on Hudson River

Hi

On this New York Times Video of the Hudson River crash I was surprised to see a Concorde in the background. It can also be seen on Google Earth.

Does anyone know what it doing there?

Perhaps when the investigation of the Airbus crash is complete the A320 should also go on display at the quayside.
It was one hell of a delivery flight !!!

:diablo: Well yes….. but not scheduled. :p

Some recent pictures on the Concorde SST forum showing the repairs complete and the aircraft generally looking quite smart: –

Isn’t this all old news?, the Intrepid museums finances were pushed to the limit with a huge re-fit and re-furb programme that has taken over a year to complete, she is now open to the public, the damage to G-BOAD was caused by a lorry that did not observe the barricades and colloded with her nose, as for the grafiti, IIRC it was minor ‘tagging’ by youths and was not a major problem to clean jup.

She has been spruced up and is now bak on display on the deck of the USS Intrepid.

Regards,

John.

Last I heard she’d suffered some nose damage – and the Intrepid Museum was running out of finance. Like everything though, it’s hard to get to the truth when you try and go through lots of PR people and Directors who like to ‘spin’.

Yes it’s G-BOAD part of the USS Intrepid museum complex……..

.

Which strikes me as a little hypocritical considering the Concorde took so long to gain acceptance over the pond (if indeed it ever did) : they never managed to produce anything to equal it, (the Soviets tried and failed with very sad results when ‘Concordski’ had the horrendous crash at the Paris Air Show.
(How well maintained is the Intrepid’s Concord by the way, does anyone have any update? :diablo:
