Hi, looking to go on one of the concorde tours , on looking through the search engines it seems the options I have available are Manchester or Bristol.
Has anyone been on these tours and can recommend one or are there any tours closer to Gatwick other than those I’ve mentioned ?
Thanks……….

I went on this last summer, and it was great. You could also plane spot for most of the tour when you’re in the DC10 and on the external tour of the aircraft, and also when you’re sat in the Concorde. It’s also really interesting listening to the history of that aircraft, not just of Concorde.

Brooklands (Surrey) is certainly the closest to Gatwick and the organised tours of “DG” are only £4 per adult and £2 per child (in addition to the museum entry fee). Another site worth looking at is: http://www.brooklandsconcorde.com
I want to see ‘DG’ it’s in my kinda livery ! 😀

I’ve been to Manchester and it was pretty good, albeit the unofficial tour courtesy of our very own ‘Tridentman’… We got the plane to ourselves on a quiet day and got to sit in the cockpit, tour the cabin and looked out of a cabin emergency door out onto the wing (sunglasses advised for this bit).
I’d also recommend jumping on an Easyjet ride from LGW to EDI and get to the Scottish Museum of Flight at East Fortune, where you get a very comprhensive audio tour handset and a great Concorde exhibition to boot…
I think my threads on these subjects may be lurking somewhere in the vault.. ?

Im gonna have to say Manchester (Technical Tours lasting an hour) £20-00 engine bay doors open and guided tour underneath, and about 10 mins on the flightdeck(sitting in it no perspex) you sit in the forward cabin seats and have a real thouough talk about the technical side of things.Oh and i look after OAC and the other aircraft so im biast. If you book for easter my Trident will be open along with the RJX and DC-10,added bonus is you can spend the rest of the day at the AVP which is right next to the taxi ways and main runways great for taking photos.:D
Oh and you may even get to se me on the Trident!!
