Concorde's in Paris

Back in July my firm sent me to Paris for a week. They put me on late shift and that left me with the morning to kill. Normal people would have gone into the centre of Paris and done the tourist bit. Not me!!!! I spent a very enjoyable two days at the Musee d’air at le bourget. I photographed EVERYTHING!! Here are two pictures of the Concorde’s nestling up to each other. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m63/Cking507/Paris%202012/DSCF2191.jpg

During one of the other free mornings I strolled around the park in Roissy en France and found this:

Evidently after twenty odd years of deafening the residents of the village Air France decided to give them a memento, a spare Concorde main gear! By the looks of the case though, one of the locals wasn’t too happy about it as there is, what looks like a bullet hole in one of the panels!
I did manage to see the other Paris “Rocket” but it was “Airside” and I won’t try to take pictures “airside” as I value my job!
I also saw the LHR Concorde and the MAN Concorde in the same week. It might be quite rare these days for one person to see five Concorde’s in one week.

Assume you are referring to FF? Has it moved back airside then? Used to be on stilts at the side of a public road near the Hilton.

I saw it from airside, still on it’s stilts. I didn’t realise it was “Landside” 😮
I’m going back at the end of the month so I see if I can get some shots of it.

I have flown faster than the speed of sound and trust me you don’t notice the difference bar the Mach meter in the HUD moving and a muffled noise.

Did you notice the glass of Champagne!

Nice photos of The Concord

Nice photos…thanks for sharing ….. its a shame the Concord no longer files. I almost got a ride on one years ago…wanted to say I have flown at the speed of sound ! Guess the airlines at the moment have decided to go subsonic at the moment.

Sweet, imagine a leg being donated here, it would sit outside unprotected until it turned to white powder and was eventually scrapped due to it becoming a falling hazard.. 😀
