There’s quite a bit about this on a pprune thread. Which seems to suggest that the main sequences were shot at Horsham St Faith.
Interesting to see that Sceptic survived the war, and ended up being very friendly with Bader’s wife 🙂

I’m fairly sure (but happy to be corrected) that the airfields used were Leconfield and/or Binbrook…ground scenes were filmed around the village of Ludham, Hickling Broad and Cley Windmill…
