I understand, from a pretty good source this morning, that the Dutch Connie will now not be appearing at Coventry as planned. She is without two props apparently and will not be fit at the end of May- bugger.
If Roger is around prehaps we could get some authentication of this story.

Roger – I think there is a lot of truth in the Lysander story . Certainly last year someone over there was looking for some Hurricane parts for a trade and I guess a Lysander wreck had been acquired through trade in Canada.
Another one to look out for is the former Phillipe Denis machine that was last stored in the south of France.

I received the unconfirmed news that another Lysander wreck is underway to Belgium. It will donate its parts to bring the crashed Lysander back in the air. The remains of this “new” Lysander will then be used to make a static non flying example for the Brussels Museum. The Lodestar is still in Brussels and is stored there. There is a story that some one stole one of its propellor blades. Both stories aren’t checked by me, but the source was relieable. Anybody can confirm this ? BW Roger

What’s happenned to the Lodestar which was with Sebena Old Timers?Come to think of it,what’s become of SOT as a whole? Any chance of thier Lizzie flying again?

Sounds like they need a Lockheed Lodestar to compliment that lot Roger?

The DC-2 is operated and owned by the “Aviodrome” , not the DDA. The DC-2 of the DDA is a piece of junk compared with the Aviodrome’s example. The DDA’s DC-2 is barebly good enough (with a lot of efford) for static display. It has been stored since it arrived in Holland. It is still in full RAAF (original) WW2 camouflage, and hopefully it will be seen in the (near) future in the Aviodrome museum. Imagine, they have two DC-2’s, a DC-3, a DC-4, A Connie and a Neptune there, aswell a a Fokker F2,F7,F8,F27 and a F50.

If the DC-2 is coming it will indeed be the DC-2 from the DDA. This DC-2 is the only one still in flying condition. I included a picture I made from this plane. Unfortunately I do not know how to add it in, so you I have included a link.

The C-54s are still parked at NW. Apparently the filming has been delayed.

Won’t this be the DDA aircraft from Schipol? I think it flys as PH-AJU but is actually N39165.

Do we know which DC-2 this will be and where is it normally based.
Also regards old props have the two DC-4’s ever moved from North Weald since they arrived last year.

I’ll be a “Joe Public” at Coventry, going there by coach from Holland so I’ll arrive half death at the show I’ll guess. Is the DC-2 still on the Coventry list? I understood that it will be seen on severall (inter) national airshows this year. BW Roger

Thanks Roger.
Will you be coming to Coventry in an official capacity or as a paying ‘Joe public’ like me ?

It says on the Connie operators website that they hired two engines and four props from the MATS Connie operators to bring it over the Atlantic. These had now be returned to MATS. Have they got replacement engines?

Well, good news and bad news. The Connie may not come to Coventry, but I Shall come instead !:D
Last thing I heard was that it had no props at all, so if it has two already, this is good news.
