Consideration for others?

Seems like I’m always moaning about something or other lately. Matthew Murray (thanks for the pm) said I was on a roll yesterday so I’d better carry on.

Can we do something about signatures please? I want to keep them but perhaps we should have some ground rules? The main problem seems to be those who list every flight they’ve been on. Ok, I see nothing wrong with that if that’s what you want to do. Some people find it interesting as well. But, could you list them horizontally across the page instead of vertically please? It would take up so much less space. Some of these signatures take up the whole screen and the actual reply might only be one or two lines.

Just try and have a bit of thought for others please.

Thank you.

Kev,

You have posted a lot of very constructive posts over the last couple of days, keep it up mate.

I feel your idea is an excellent one. Let’s get rid of the signatures, advertising web sites (there is a WWW button on each post for links to your web sites) and post numbers.

After all we are here to discuss aviation etc.
😉 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉

I hope this signature is good for you… Altough some people ignore the request and just keep the irritating loooooong signature.

Sorry, kev35, I went over the top on the age limit, it’s just so exasperating sometimes . . .
I am fairly new on the Forum and 99% of the time it is great, just a few idiots let it down and I had the impression it was due to their age.
Of course it’s all down to maturity really.

Again
This boils down to moderation, the images in the sigs are pretty much ok but there should be a limit to the size of images i.e no images bigger than say 100 x 40 (example only), and probably a limit on the number of lines that a sig should include.

But I guess its down to us all to try and guage what we think is unreasonable and alter our sigs accordingly 🙂 just remember for every 5 of you on ADSL or Broadband there are probably 2 people on dial-up 🙂

Dean.

Papa Lima.

I’m 42 and I will freely admit that I have learned a great deal from many of the younger forum members so I personally would not want to see the age raised. We’ve had the odd idiot on here who was well over 18. That’s not the point I’m trying to make.

We’re all entitled to our opinion and if LGKR and Airline Owner disagree that’s fine. Just getting my point across. Hopefully in a mature and sensible fashion.

Airline Owner, thank you for your consideration.

Regards,

I am sure you do, skylinerworld, my remarks were addressed to those who needed to read them, and they know themselves who they are.
Kev35 made, as I say, a perfectly reasonable request and I am sure that the vast majority of Forum members would like to keep it tidy.
I don’t think there’s any more to be said about it now.

I even suggest that the minimum age for participating in this Forum should be raised to 18, there must be other places where such inane remarks can be posted.

I do find the previous 2 remarks childish yes, and I do agree with what Kev is saying. And the previous 2 remarks go against everything that we’ve all been complainign about and trying to change for a long time, but I think raising the minimum age to 18 is stupid. Do you see me making remarks like the previous ones? And how about all the other forum members under 18 (The likes of LBARULES, Britannia etc)?

I personally find the the last two posts on this thread a childish and rude response to a reasonable request.
