The Super Constellation flyers Association from Switzerland have published their airhowbookings for this year. For some of you, it will be nice to see that the constellation is booked for the Flying Legends Airshow on july 10-11 this year. 😎
More info on their site:

See the current news section for more info about the bookings!
Now, you have a good reason to visit the Legends this year! 😉
Cheers,
J.V.

“what’s wrong with Duxford’s runway?”
The hard runway was re-laid early last year but the job wasn’t up to standard, and there are now cracks and ruts etc galore in it.It’s been declared unusable and will probably remain so untill it can be re done in the coming autumn/winter.This means that only the grass runway will be operational this season,so there won’t be any jets (except perhaps a Harrier) operating out of Dx this year.

IIRC, the MATS Connie didn’t use Duxford when she performed at Legends back in ’98. I don’t know why or what relevance it has,but I just thought I’d mention it…:D
I think the reason was that it was operating from Cranfield during the PFA Rally over the same weekend

Yes, why not, the MATS Connie landed on the grass at Middle Wallop a few years ago and anyway, what’s wrong with Duxford’s runway?

Agreed, but the question was specifically about Flying Legends.

I second that, there was supposed to be some pleasure flights until the CAA got involved.

The MATS Connie did land at Duxford… I have pictures of it on the ground there.. although not at Leg Ends.

Just for information, the MATS Connie did not land at Duxford because it was operating out of Cranfield for the duration of the PFA rally.

If the hard is u/s, I should imagine she could potentially use Cambridge. We’ve got plenty of runway there….

The Dutch Connie should be at Waddington on the Sunday according to their website.

I was wondering if we were going to see one of the Connies at a UK show this year, this is great news. 🙂

The Dutch Connie is still under restoration. The work is almost completed. But there are no dates yet on the aviadrome site of any shows the Dutch Connie will attend. Let us hope that the rebuild will be completed in time for the airshowseason. We shall see.

Can we also get the Dutch Connie?
Like last years JU52’s line-up.

That’ll give me a chance to go for a cuppa then.
By: Learning_Slowly - 6th April 2004 at 09:38
No quite…unless you get the flare wrong then I guess it could be!
My point was that if it was coming I would have thought it would want to use the hard… and that as we know is kind of …. US
