I guess this has probably been done before but hey, it should be fun. What is your favourate classic racing car- any formula, any age…(Think of it along the lines of the ‘cool wall’ on Top Gear, the car need not have been succesful, it just has to be cool :p )
Here is my offering, a 1968 Cooper Alfa Romeo (Formula 1- when it was a proper sport  ), taken at the Oulton Park gold cup, 2003. I’m not even sure if it ever raced in a Grand Prix when it was built, I guess it soon became obsolete compared to wedge shaped things with wings, but it surely counts as COOL!

To me, any of the really early racing cars like the pre war Delages, Bugattis, Alfas, Le Mans Bentleys, etc. It took some serious guts to race them. Even today, when they’re raced in historic events, my hat goes off to the drivers.
Can’t resist putting up a picture of girlfriend piloting my Bugatti T35 (reproduction) . It is quite a pussy-cat to drive, but above 70mph very windy and skittish. No doubt the real ones are much more snorty.

And not forgetting the little TALBOT SAMBA – what fun!

Lotus Cortina
While this one was not exactly a racing car it certainly has an aviation heritage… and the looks.
Vyrell Mitchell was the demonstrator pilot and Sales Manager at Beagle in 1966 and then the Piper agents, CSE Oxford.
I am sure photos of the car, when new, must feature in some aircraft photos.
I am the current owner, a LAME and Commercial Pilot. And own two Piper aircraft…… seems strange that the car has similar roots.

I would be delighted if someone could come up with some more history, indeed photos of the machine.
