I’ve just acquired the Weekend Edition of the recently-released Eduard “bubbletop” Spitfire Mk.XVI kit and, aside from being a kit fit to bursting with detail, it has two colour schemes for Spitfires used in the 1949 Cooper Trophy air race. One of which is the well-known SL718:

The other, however, is for surviving Spitfire RW393:

I can’t seem to find any mention of it in Spitfire Survivors Vol.2, and Google isn’t throwing anything up for me.
Anyone else?
If anyone’s interested, I intend on building models of both aircraft – the Eduard kit in SL718’s colours, with an Italeri kit going as RW393. Should be fun!

Just curious Daz. How many Spitfires do you have?

Ah, possibly!
Mind you, that’s not the only thing that kit has wrong – it insists the other racer’s fin flash colours were reversed….!

The other, however, is for surviving Spitfire RW393:
I can’t seem to find any mention of it in Spitfire Survivors Vol.2,
Could that be because HT-A was actually RW394?
