Corgi Meteor mix-up?

Have Corgi got their 500 sqn Meteor F.8 http://www.corgi.co.uk/CorgiSite/AA2005CS/AA35001.htm & their 601 sqn meteor http://www.corgi.co.uk/CorgiSite/AA2005CS/AA35002.htm mixed up?
Surely the blue/white/green markings are 500 (County of Kent) sqn!

I hope this is just a mix-up by whoever sent out the publicity, or are the boxes being printed with the wrong images too?

I notice that every website I’ve seen with these two aircraft advertised has the images switched too, as it was sent out by Corgi I assume.

I know that there used to be someone on this forum connected with Corgi, but can’t remember who?

Geoff.

I have the 500 Sqn one – AA35001 the box photo shown below matches the model (not always the case with Corgi) so it looks like Corgi’s website is wrong.

This mix-up applies only to the Corgi catalogue text. The info and models are all correct. Next Meteor is in 1574 Flt F(TT)8 markings.

The model is correct, 601 Squadron also had a camouflaged F.8 in this scheme.

meteor scheme mix-up

Hi

the black and red markings are definitely 601aux squadron based at north weald in the 50’s. the striped tail was the co’s aircraft. It was silver overall though, not camoflaged. 604aux squadron were also based there to at the same time. they had red and orange triangles with overall silver aircraft.

I have several photos that I will try to post in the next few days showing such.
