Corporate air forces

Reading an article on the recent blackwater incident, I noticed that it had serveral references to privately owned and operated attack helos with the name Apache being thrown around. I must admit that that was news to me.

I am wondering if that report of privately owned Apaches was accurate. If it is, I would be very interested in learning more about the numbers, types and maintance support for dedicated attack helos owned and operated by private corporations.
