Not a ton of ’em, but a few, to give you an idea what went on, I had 3 rolls of my air to air stuff developed during my vacation…..now consider, these were shot from the NOSE position of the B-25 ‘Panchito’ so I was’nt in the PRIME position to photograph afforded some of the other photogs who were in the Rear of the B-25, but I had one HELLUVA view…and got some shots, too! The window distortion played a factor, but I am happy with what I got and I know I have more and better shots on other rolls buried deep within my camera bag and as yet undeveloped…the Yagen Corsair #31 flew right by the nose as he departed and I got about 7 good clear shots of him I am DYING to see, but it will take time, as I shot about 20 other rolls of film during my trip….but here’s some to tide you over till I recover and get more scanned in….a view from the nose headed out over the ocean, one of an accompanying T-6 who joined us, and of course the Corsairs in formation and over the Race Rock light house (supposed to be haunted…this’ll rattle those ghosts!!)

From memory, we WERE hoping for Gary Kohs bird to come, possibly Charles Osborne’s if it made it to the paint shop on time, possibly the Cavanaugh example if the engine got on in time, and Mike George’s, which did’nt show…

Great Pics. Looks like a good show. Was that sunshine and blue sky you had there as well?
It was very sunny once the front moved out of the area. The weather prevented a few corsairs from showing up and I heard one had engine problems.
It was a good time. Anytime 5 Corsairs are together its a good day!

I’ll bump this back up with a link to my picts. I wish I could have been in the nose of the B-25J, but as the saying goes, I’m just a bird that can’t fly. 😮

Ahhh, now the link is working, and I was WONDERING if that was Rohr in the PT-23 but I never saw the pilot, so I never connected with any WIX’ers except Richard Allnutt who I had dinner with (and 5 other folks) and we had a good time….if I had been able to see some faces over on the WIX forums I might have recognized a few folks (and they me) and I would’ve met a few folks, but it did’nt work out that way….maybe next time…

It was a fantastic flight….to see the area that I used to ply on my old Coast Guard cutter from the air like that, it was pretty cool….and Corsairs to boot.
No, Odegaard’s Corsair went to Mississippi for an air race, apparently that show’s check showed up in the mail first so Odegaard went there instead, did’nt make the Corsair gathering…..ah well. Would’ve been nice but stuff happens, so we made do with the 5 we had….still a lot of fun. More of a report when I get home from work.

What a fantastic experience that must have been. And to think you only got the nose position. 😎

Who cares about the possible distortion !.
Its not every day you get the opportunity to snap a few big radials in close formation and you have the memory of the noise and vibration from your own plane ride as well. …I still recall my first flight in a B17 last year as if I’d just got out of after touchdown.
Was Bob Odegard there with his big sunburst schemed racer ?
Thanks for sharing those and like you….looking forward to the others (you must go digital one day…instant results and all that !)
