As Promised. Corsairs on board HMS ILLUSTRIOUS & ATHELING. These where given to me by an old FAA engine mechanic, his name – Jack Collings. Sadly Jack is no longer with us. I thought it would be nice to share these with you.

Sadly not, the guy rolling behind the wing was an ‘ex-deck crew’ and I seem to remember that another was killed. I have seen this one before, perhaps Spitfire at War 1

Thanks for the correction, I could only go by what Jack told me back in 96. Mind you, as he said, its a bloody long time ago. I have to be honest, I’m surprised no more lost thier lives, it looks quite busy at the back of the fwd Seafire.

The last few. There are 2 photo’s taken in 1996 of Jack Collings when he visited Duxford, I showed him around the OFMC hanger where I worked at the time.
