While I’m not in favour of any ‘faked’ event situations in this forum, almost all of the aircraft photos on here have been altered in some way, either by being processed on the camera or, more likely, in an image processing program.

The most important thing is to show the aircraft (to those of us who are not able to attend the events that are covered) in an interesting and aesthetically appealing manner. To everyone who posts their photos here I say a hearty, “Thank you all”, for taking the trouble to do so.

Glad this has re-opened as I wanted to say how good the picture of the Hurricane is. Well done.

Moderator Message

Dear All,

After consultation with my fellow moderators, I have re-opened this thread.

The only comment I will make is that IF anyone chooses to post digitally-manipulated images onto a forum such as this, they cannot reasonably expect others not to comment on the fact.

The subject is now closed.

Any complaints or comments directly to me (or to the Webmaster) by PM, please.

[QUOTE=XF828;1455074]Because I was there and the aircraft had passed way off to the left before the pyros went off. Note two people holding up cameras at bottom of frame – following the aircraft, which in reality was far out of shot to the left.

Link here to another well known snapper’s images,
taken further to the right then myself. and the aircraft is not way off to the left as you are saying, or are they fake also.

Why do you think it’s faked?

Because I was there and the aircraft had passed way off to the left before the pyros went off. Note two people holding up cameras at bottom of frame – following the aircraft, which in reality was far out of shot to the left.

It also didn’t descend by about 100 ft in the space of the 5 seconds or so that would have elapsed between the first frame above and the faked one! If you’re going to fake a shot like this, basic details like keeping the aircraft size consistent does help.

Here’s a video from almost exactly the same view point:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/leicestershire/8240485.stm

I count 4 seconds between aircraft going out of shot to left and the explosions having developed into the stage shown in the faked pic.

The last shot is a bit obviously faked. Why ruin your reputation by posting such rubbish?
