Noted this outside at Cosford on Monday afternoon, parked where the Valiant had previously stood.

Nice museum Cosford – Nowhere near as crowded as Duxford, and although it isnt as big it still has some very good displays.

Nice to see her in the open. anyone know why she has ‘painted on’ windows on the fuselage? I’ve always found it curious.
The windows were sprayed over when she was camouflaged to represent Winston Churchill’s personal York during her days at Staverton with the Skyfame Museum.
I presume Cosford just painted in the windows rather than cleaning off the old paint.
Here she is at Staverton – 23rd April 1966 (Brownie 127 print)

OLLY the York is sitting on the car park waiting to be moved into the cold war building I have been told.
