T’is but a small affair at 32 thousand square foot for which they do not yet have planning approval for. Thomsns say they can operate without it. Would imagine it would not be too difficult for Thomsons to re-arrange their small number of flights on a weekend.

I seem to remember that there is a terminal to be built at Coventry so it won’t be held there again but they were going to look into holding it somewhere else.

Usually a biennial event. Probably not this year so hopefully they will do something in 2005. Cov airshow rocked! Where else can one see 10000 piston horses taking off locally and in close proximity?

I shan’t forget the Ryan NYP crash in a hurry either. It was the first crash I’d seen, fatal or otherwise. It didn’t help later being at Legends on Saturday.
I think I heard the announcer, or somebody, say that there were major revisions planned for Baginton and that’s why there couldn’t be another show.

I’m not sure about any airshows at Baginton but Air Atlantique seem pretty committed to their historic fleet. They are currently advertising a post to manage the fleet for airshow work ,open days, pleasure flying etc and are looking for some volunteers to help with such.
I agree, the Coventry shows were a great breath of fresh air and in my book two of the best I have been to in recent years. However, as you say ,the tragic death of Mr Hollander put a real cloud over the event, I too will take a long time to remove that image from my mind, if at all. I have witnessed other fatal accidents, yet this one seem to affect me more , maybe it was because I had earlier been stood watching him and his team prepping the aircraft.

Fraid I don’t have inside info, but I think there’d be something on the Air At website by now if they were planning it.
They did say (this is official to press) last year that it wouldn’t happen again; , so I don’t think it is likely to happen that was before the Ryan crash, so nothing to do with that.:( However, that’s what they said last time too, so lets hope!
They were excellent shows, and a lot better than many more established events. I for one would love another, though seeing the Ryan go down was one of the most unpleasent sights I’ve seen. I’m not forgetting Pierre Hollander.
Cheers
