Coventry Heron

With the Jersey Airlines Heron G-AORG being on check at Atlantique Engineering any updates on how well the check it is going as it is in for a major check not as major as the Lanc I am lead to believe and the possible finish dates if any.
On another thred there was comments mades about the Classic Flight might be involved with operating her? is this possiblity.
Would be great to have a ride in her as there are not many around these day.
The group who own the aircraft were keen to get more people in there group to keep the aircraft in the U.K. also keep her flying although I understand they would love to keep her in her home land down on the Sunny Island of Jersey, the one problem is Jersey has no hangarage for her, with the very salty air they get down on Jersey there must be a bit of a problem,? although she is a British Built aircraft so not as bad as some other makes of aircraft.

I have to say that to me the Jersey Heron is one of the most interesting and exciting historic aircraft in the country. So I hope nothing serious is found, that it quickley returns to the air and of course that the Classic Flight get to operate her for the enjoyment of all of us who enjoy flying in old aircraft.

I believe it is still in the stripdown and investigation phase.Don’t forget it has only been a couple of weeks since the Lancaster vacated the hangar and then manpower would have had to be allocated to the job, there is a lot of projects on the go in hangar 7 at the mo.
I guess the time scale would be governed by what ,if anything is found .

I will ask if I can post any pictures and if so ,I will post some next week.

Will the ding in its tail be fixed?

It’s only for safety reasons while loading and boarding. The passenger door and the cargo door on the left hand side are a little bit aft of the main landing gear.

Much as I know, I wish I knew more!

…scroll down…

That’s the last I’ve heard of!

‘…The last time we visited your country was back in June 2001, when we were invited to attend the ‘Hamburg Airport Classics’. We all had a wonderful time.
We have been invited again – this time to the new title of ‘Airport Days Hamburg’ in September 2007. We are trying hard to arrange everything. See you there?
Next time you visit Jersey, do let us know. Maybe we could arrange a little guest fly for you.
