Hi all,
It’s been a while since my last post but upgraded my camera and with clear skies and sun all around I took a 2 hour trip to Glasgow this afternoon. Firstly when I arrived I saw the Army prop taking off , anyone any idea what this is ?.
Enjoy the selection. 😎

Thanks for viewing.
Regards
Jamie

Defenders apparently have hard points on the wings and do come in a maritime version too…

I would hazard a guess it might be on a ferry flight to Belfast as we do have at least one based here and I know of some people who have seen sometimes two. I believe there is a maintenance facility for Islanders at one of the Glasgow facilities?
(PSNI Islander).
The only place I’ve seen them operate regularly is out of Aldergrove in support of PSNI/RUC demands. And presumably Loganair cater for their engineering needs in this part of the world ?

Are Defenders the Police verison?
I think it depends per force – pretty confident G-BSWR is civilian version (PSNI Islander).

Nice angle on the Navajo as well. One of Aero-Medical’s out of Kidlington isn’t it?
IIRC only some military Islanders are called Defenders.

I think you mean the Army plane as I think the BA one is Airbus ? (lol) And isn’t the Islander known as the ‘Defender’ in it’s military application.. ? 😉
Nice weather today, while it lasted… 😮
lol when I mean BA I sort of mean British Army 😮 we just say its an Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander/Defender 😀
