Crash in Yorkshire yesterday.

A lucky escape for the occupants apparently, G-BJKY. Speedy recovery.

For once, we do not have to ‘wait for the report’

The lucky pilot posted today on Flyer Forum.

”Twas I, highly embarrased and incredibly lucky to be alive.

Flying above scattered (initially) cloud I (stupidly) convinced myself that we had just passed Ingleton and, heading NW, were flying towards lowering ground. In fact we had just passed Settle, and were heading towards Ingleborough, which we met at cruise speed, most definitely CFIT.

Stude with me had mobile phone which had excellent signal, but for that phone we would PROB90 have both died of exposure having survived the initial impact.

Since this is not the Studes forum I deserve all the slagging you care to throw at me, but I sure won’t make that mistake again.

My bag of luck is in tatters.”
