Having seen the video on you tube I too am disgusted by the lack of emergency service response. I does indeed look like a possible serviceable accident, not however when people stand around and watch you burn!!!!
Thoughts as always with the friends and family at this time 🙁

Awful, awful news. Eddie was an extremely skilled pilot and had been flying at shows for about 50 years. He organised the fly-in part of the annual ‘Pacific Coast Dream Machines’ event at his home field at Half Moon Bay, where he always hosted a hangar party on the Saturday evening. He was the nicest guy you could hope to meet, and would always stop to say hello and have a few words whenever you saw him at an event. Condolences to his son, Eddie Jr, and the rest of his family. RIP Eddie. 🙁

Posts on various Facebook groups are saying it was survivable and are highly critical of the time it took the emergency crews to reach the crash. Other posts don’t actually say it outright, but could be read as critical of the decision to fly this programme in gusty winds.

Poor s*d, indeed. One might hope he was killed by the impact, or at least rendered unconscious.

The poor sod, the fuel tank is in the top wing which would be just below him when it hit, it looks as if it was survivable in the top picture.
