Yes QR-P but from the information that I have it crash landed in Sweden, I still think that this aircraft is more likely to be OL-P

Hmm, think the letter are P-QR, maybe ?
Right of the draw I can see a “Q”…
I can´t see a “OL-P” on this a/c. I think it is impossible that the a/c lie down a so long time. The Wehrmacht was very correctly about it.
At the backside of picture was write “September 1940” …

Checking Bomber Command Squadrons the Sqn Code was QR, and it appears that GL was never issued as a bomber sqn Code. I think in the picture it maybe a trick of the light

This could be P1171 OL-P of 83 Sqn lost on 1/2 July 1940

Hit by flak and crashed in target area killing the crew.

are you sure ?

This picture was take on 26.Sep.1940 in Kiel. On this date only one a/c of Hampden was shot down by Kiel…and this must be this hampden from 61th squadron..

T/o Hemswell, hit by flak and subsequently destroyed in a fatal crash landing near Oresund, Sweden. P/O Earl, an Australian, is buried at Kviberg, the rest of the crew are at Halsingborg (Palsjo) Municipal Cemetery.
