Hi guys, I have found loads of old video footage from MHAS (macclesfield historical aviation society) and I have managed to upload them to youtube, thought it might be of interest. I have just uploaded the one video at the moment, but will do more if people are interested.
Please let me know if posting this is braking any rules or is in the wrong place.

gazzagee – I’m not after silencing you – you were not to know. There is plenty more in your video to discuss, I’m just asking members to leave this particular one be for now. Do you have more material than the original MHAS DVD of a few years ago and did you attend any of the excavtions?
Well there was 3 DVD’s that I made that you may have seen, there is some more stuff, but I haven’t found time to do anything with it, took me this long to take the footage off my old PC and put it on my Mac 😮

It was certainly a controversial dig! However the facts seem to have become clouded so could I suggest that repeating hearsay is not advisable here (or perhaps admitting to possession of section 5 weapons). Discussions with the appropriate authorities have been ongoing for some time and hopefully official action will be taken soon. So could I respectfully ask that contributors avoid the subject of the fate of this pilot, as this really is not appropriate at the present time – Hopefully more can be revealed in due course.

Hi yes I believe so, but under some controversy I think, I don’t know for sure so don’t quote me, but I think someone offering enough money, was allowed to dig her up, for the prize of the .5 cannons, apparently the pilot was not in the plane after all, however I could be wrong but this is what I was lead to believe.
I have been to the farm many year ago, according to the “farmer” he was lead astray into a dig which was licenced. I was told that the licence issued was not for the aircraft which they intended digging but not seeing it i cannot not confirm this. I am sure the farmer will put you right on the matter.

Temporary edit
According to the farmer the engine was recovered from 25ft but failed to find all 8 browning machine guns.

Interesting, thanks for posting that! Was the P47 ever excavated?
