1) Name the plane the right desination and how many were build
2) Name the Company that Build it
3) Name the Plant Location
4) Name the UK connection
5) Name Crazymainers connection with said company

OK Then………

OK Guys and Gals,

Frank Rohr the founder of Rohr Aircraft which became Rohr Industrys is my Great Uncle. I told you this was going to be hard but jeeze I thought AIB you were going to get it.

As for the Company it merge with BF Goodrich about six years ago, those of you don’t know what we build well if you ever flew on any Western build Airliner then you have flow on a plane that has ROHR parts in it. most likely the engine pods and most of Boeings Landing Gear doors, flap actuators. Plus we build alot stuff for the Military and we have a Space Division that has build stuff for every Man Mission that NASA has ever sent up.

Now I think I’m going to call the Navy quizs off for a while but don’t worry I have something new up my selve :diablo: ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Ahh,…think this one is beyond myself, CM.
I like looking and guessing old aircraft.

That Pietenpol Air-Camper I am going to build one day (getting the plans very soon), will end up in Stearman-style US Navy colours.

This one is a Pan Am bird in wartime colours. I guess its New York in the back ground and maybe it is about to fly the Atlantic?

Consolidated delivered 176 PB2Ys to the US Navy and an additional 33 for use by other organizations or countries. Besides the production from Consolidated, Rohr (Rohr Aircraft Co, Chula Vista CA.)
also manufactured 41 PB2Ys.

PS: RAF used PB2Y-3Bs, named Coronado Mk.I. Name was later adopted by US Navy.

Consolidated PB2Y-5R Coronado.
Design but not build by Consolidated not a 5R

-3R?
I think the RAF received the -3R version.

One of the 218 PB2Y’s built at Consolidated’s plant at San Diego Ca.
The plant is not in San Diego how many of this version were build

NAF at Philadelphia??

The UK link is that 10 of these aircraft were supplied under Lend-Lease and used by the RAF as transports.
Yes on the RAF

As far as CM’s family goes I haven’t a clue but suspect an older Rohr might have had some connection.

Oh so close but how

Your dad flew them–I know he was a Naval Officer. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚

Any one??

Try this….

Right
it’s Saturday night , there’s nothing on the tele and for once we’re staying in. So, I reckon it’s a Consolidated PB2Y-5R Coronado.
