Pakistan beat India by four wickets

PESHAWAR: Pakistan defeated India by four wickets in the third one-day international here on Friday to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
The remaining two matches will be played under lights at Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium on Sunday and Wednesday.
Yasir Hameed played some lovely strokes to put Pakistan back in the chase at Peshawar, hitting 88 not out as Pakistan reached 146 for 4 at the end of 30 overs. Inzamam-ul-Haq, who had come to bat late at No. 6, kept him company with a calm 21 not out, as the two batsmen added 81 in 93 balls.
Once Hameed and Inzamam had settled in, there appeared to be no demons in the pitch at all. In the Indian innings, it was really in the first few overs, with the new ball, that the conditions had appeared to suit the bowlers. The rest of the time, the bowlers had bowled really well, and the soft dismissals of Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid had set the Indians back. There were no such soft dismissals here, and the Indians couldn’t bowl well enough to keep the run-rate down.
At the end, Ganguli’s excellent batting Pakistan chased the runs with no visible difficulty. He completed his half century with a four and at the same time giving a win to Pakistan.

Well like Imran Khan said to the PCCB chief towards the end of the match- “Get us an Irfan Pathan”. Its not how fast you bowl the ball but where u bowl it. Speed isnt everything. The Pakistani bowlers are good – really good and any team would love to have them. But they need to get back to basics.

More hope then compared to this forum. But lately there is some improvement. Anyway. Stupid that they didn’t braodcast the game in europe. Those 10 seconds on cnn are not enough to enjoy the historic match.

I saw it, congrats to Indian team, well deserved victory, it was also nice to see some fans who had sticthed teh Indian and Pakistani flags together and Pakistani fans paitning Indian colours on their faces, maybe there is hope….
