The German description says it has come out of a racing boat, hence the lack of supercharger, I assumed.
I got the “boot” bit too.
The Meteor is basically a Merlin, but without the supercharger. I’m sure there are other detail differences as well but they’re virtually identical.
As tanks and boats tend not to cruise around at Angels 25, the supercharger was deemed superfluous. I assume a simpler carburettor was used as well.
Technically speaking, most Meteors are actually Rovers, not Rolls-Royces. The factory in Nottingham is what was swapped with Rover for the Barnoldswick jet engine works.

Well they got the 4.3 litre 330 BHP TVR Tuscan engine in the Westfield 330. I reckon with a bit of extra bracing here & there it would fit. I’d have to leave of the bonnet though & fit a periscope to see over the top. Still, it’s a challenge.

Shorty- why don’t you build a kit tank instead ! Looks a bit big for
a Super 7 ! They are cases that failed the quality tests on the production so so were consigned to the Meteor line. Only a very small number of parts are compatible with an aeroplane application.

I think it might well be a Meteor tank engine -good for tanks -not that useful for aeroplanes.

Sorry guys, that is a RR Meteor tank engine, no good for Aeroplanes!
