A thought.
Most of us see the current World from a first person perspective unless we’ve had a few too many…or not enough ?.
Can you imagine a world whereby you see yourself (controlling your ‘self’ would have to be sub-concious) and everything about you in a third person perspective (bit like Tomb Raider but without Lara’s bum in your face all the time).
I’d imagine that it would have some advantages, like being able to see round corners, no requirement to use a mirror to check the tie is on straight etc etc.
S’pose it must what people say they experience when having an ‘out of body’experience.
Whadja reckon ?
Cheers
Gary

Twice the C*rlsb*rg for half the price ?
Do what I do. lean over to the Bartender and softly
say, “Do you want to know how to sell twice as much beer?”
Then, Loudly say, “FILL UP THE GLASS”.
Only posted because of my name which should be preceeded
with Spaten –

Yup. Miss those nice English pubs with the nice atmosphere and fun people. It is worth it even if the drink is more expensive that way.

Eric
Twice the C*rlsb*rg for half the price ?
S’easy mate, move to Cyprus. I currently pay CY£5.70 for a 12 bottle crate (same for Keo) or a little bit less for the 24 bottle crates.
I found a place just down the A303 from where I live in Wiltshire that would sell Keo to me (minimum purchase two crates) and remove £48.00 for the pleasure. When I’m back in the UK I dont mind that cos I like the drink, but its a sobering thought that for that amount I get my usual 4 crates of beer for each month, fill the truck up with Deisel…27 cents a litre, fill up for twelve quid !!!) and still have change left over.
Why four crates each month, well it tastes infinately better than what comes out of the taps, its cold, and it’s great to sit down a chat on the Forum with a cold beer each night (two bottles if its the weekend).
cheers

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-12-02 AT 10:04 PM (GMT)]Sorry Gary you are all wrong. I like Carlsberg a lot. But I don’t like deep thinking like you suggest above when I am hanging out drinking with friends 😀 The only calulation I could ever think of while in that mode would be; “What if I could get twice the Carlsberg at half the price?” Sports talk is OK. And of course all the other social interests.

Mmmm. So it does have it’s drawbacks then?
“I’d imagine that it would have some advantages, like being able to see round corners, no requirement to use a mirror to check the tie is on straight etc etc.”
I would imagine you would experience a strange sense of detatchment from ones self, whatever that is. I’ve spoken to people who have had ‘out of body experiences’ and the ones I’ve spoken to speak of a calm sense of detachment. It’s a pity we can’t do it at will, it might be of significant help to us in a crisis.
