Crowd capacity at DX

I phoned DX on wednesday and booked tickets for the BBMF anniversary day, as I’ve mentioned before, Uncle George is coming over from Hungary, his request for the visit was a trip to DX, we relayed the information to him that it was going to be a special day and I think he’s already packed his suitcase in anticipation of the event, he is so excited, never having seen a spitfire before, unless they were ranging over Budapest in 1945.
I was told that demand for advanced tickets was very high, so it sounds as if we are going to have a packed DX.
What is the number of people allowed on the site for any kind of event, there must be a limit, I remember the 60th anniversary of the spitfire and the problems that it caused, luckily we turned up early and were ok, certain famous BoB pilots had to walk in.
Thing is, kids are free, my stepson is delaying his decision, I reckon when George comes over from Hungary, he will fancy going, despite it being ‘not cool’.
So what is the limit, if I turn up with a youth, and numbers of kids must count, what happens if the numbers are exceeded, not that I have a clue what they are. This may not be a particularly pre-publicised public event outside the a/c fraternity, but by the time the local TV news people have got their mits into it, everyone will want to go.
So whats the highest number of people ever allowed into a DX event and what can they realistically cope with.

I thought that capacity was 20,000 at least?

At a rough guess flying legends must have at least 8 to 10,000 visitors (probably more) and could easily take more, i have never known a show at duxford to close due to the amount of people going.

The advanced ticket thing is possibly because they have an allotment of advance sales and are getting close to the limit of the sale, you need to remember that advanced sales normally stop about a month before the events so they can get the tickets printed and ship them out.

2000, b OF b Aniversary airshow, the gates were closed and all major roads were blocked.

By the way, do you mean hard working paying punters or **** licking non-paying hangers on?
