I’m due to come down in Wasp XT787 and the Seafire is expected to be there too.:)
Never knew the RNHF had a Wasp is it new or are you borrowing it?

I should be there. Having done the security checks for our Dakota flight I should then be chasing it down in the ‘trusty’ Classic Flight Ford Transit minibus so we can have some transport around for the next four days pleasure flying from Newquay. Hope to get there around 2 ish so should see the end of the show. If you’re near our Dakota dont be afraid to say hello. 🙂

Definitely Nick! If Geoff W hasn’t already seen them he will be too. Have you got hold of a copy of his Culdrose book yet? If not they will be available on the day (will be picking my copy up while I’m there). If you can’t find me during the day I should be around the Fury some time towards the end of the day with everyone else.
Yes have seen Geoff’s book – my brother brought me up a signed copy the other day. Some really good old pics in it – it is tangible evidence of stories that my Dad still tells me what it was like growing up next to CU in the late 40’s and fifties. When you read about 736 or 738NAS having 50+ Sea Furies on its books it is really hard to picture in one head until you see the photographic evidence!
By all accounts Sea Hornet F20’s regularly conducted aeros over Helston making a sound that stopped people in their tracks in town!!:)
Will look you up next week toward the end of the day…

Excellent news – BTW Lee I have some pics of Sea Fury VR932 to send to you. These were ‘relinquished’ from CU dump in the 50’s and show the aircraft flying without a tailhook and with the middle ‘3’ of the fuselage code ‘133’ crudely painted out – are you interested?

I’ll be there, hoping that they are erecting the usual grandstand. I don’t know any other show that has one, it’s an excellent idea. Well worth the extra few quid and saves having to lug around your own furniture.

Weather and serviecability permitting, yes! Sea Fury VR930 and Chipmunk WK608 should be there; possibly the Sea Hawk too, although if that is the case it will most likely only be on static as the pilots won’t be display authorised by then.
