As an ex Ford (Transit) man this poster is of past glories and failures of the Cunlliffe-Owen Southampton plant.Ford took over the plant later. This aircraft was a failure as with a lot of post war aircraft makers they thought they could build a DC3 replacement as we all know the only replacement for a DC3 is a DC3!;)

See http://sussexhistoryforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=6622.0 (and if you wish to go back a little further in the company’s history, then also http://sussexhistoryforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=6611.0). You’ll find some interesting images which are not, I believe, in wide circulation.
