I have a cunning plan, I’ll go and help a struggling 3rd world country that needs teachers like me to help educate their children.
Oops, I chose a country that has one of the worst records of genocide in the world, harbours terrorists, hates the west, has a government totally corrupt and incapable of ruling it’s own population.
I make a silly mistake with the naming of a Teddy Bear, oh dear, can I go home now.
What was she thinking of, poor misguided woman, I think her troubles are only just beginning, I hope I’m wrong, but I have a bad feeling about this.

Breaking news……..hold the front page……..
After all the mayhem of calling a teddy bear Mohamed in Sudan,Sooty has canceled his tour of Jamaica.

I see that madam has been pardoned, but I thought that their government was powerless to act.
So… having made a press statement that sings the praises of their wonderful people and country, which I’m sure they are, given more than half a chance, does she come back here with the ethnic hit squad or stay and wait for the next mistake, which won’t be hard to make will it.
Perhaps a spell in Zimbabwe is next on the cards, or better still, Miramar, or Burma, or whatever it’s called now.
I wonder what they’ll talk about on the plane home, last nights ‘Antique Roadshow’, which had some wonderful Teddy Bears, Newcastles chances in the FA cup, who knows, another bloody grovel no doubt forced this result.

Do ‘they’ know what a woman looks like anyway
Ah! Fair point.

You’ve not seen a picture of her then?
Moggy
Do ‘they’ know what a woman looks like anyway, it’s allegedly not allowed, depending on your interpretation of things, of course, so, be gratefull for small mercies, any port in a storm anyway, Moggy, preferences don’t always count here.
Incidentally, whats the distance from Baghdad to Khartoum.
I thought that the CIA might give a few of our ‘Special’ boys the day off and a few air refuelled CH-53’s, plus a bit of Tornado support for that added fear factor, I bet they’d relish the chance of a go at a police station, and more, I bet the Israelis would have a go if it was one of theirs.
I was interested to see who the Government have sent out to ‘negotiate’.
Do we have a life peer to suit every eventuality then, Scottish Presbytarians for trouble in Iona, perhaps parachuting Russian Orthodox peers, Zen Buddhists, or even supporters of the Dhali Llama, ready to be infiltrated into Tibet at a moments notice. This could be fun.

…what are the chances of her being ‘interfered with’
You’ve not seen a picture of her then?

Fair enough, I accept that ‘they’ are allowed to insult and threaten and blow up our own society and beliefs, or lack of them, while we have to grin and bear it, doesn’t hold much hope for the future does it, this saga is just the tip of the iceberg and it won’t be over in 15 days either.
It doesn’t seem to be a problem to take the mickey out of the UK ‘Queen and countries’ religion by quoting chunks of Monty Python on here, I totally agree with that, it’s what we are all about, but you have to apply the same rules, so remove them please, don’t forget, us Christian Norman invaders are becoming an ethnic minority ourselves, we won’t be able to have a complaining voice at all at this rate of takeover.
I listened to a fantastic interview with the Archbishop of Canterbury on Jeremy Vine a few weeks ago, I’m not a religious person, but some of the things he said got me very worried, it came across to me that he was as concerned with the future of this ‘Christian’ country as most of us free thinking people are.
Religious persecution has gone on since the year dot, we thought that C of E v Catholiscm finished in the 17th century, but it carries on, not just in NI either, I thought that the Human Race would have sorted itself out by now, but it never will, there will always be something to have a war about.
How true

Although we can’t influence events in the outside world, Pete, “they” certainly wouldn’t be allowed to do that in here.
There’s one set of rules for all.
Cheers

I just thought I’d remind you all of this long-standing site rule before people start getting carried away.
Thanks

C’mon chaps, you’re not taking this seriously.
The British Government are getting heavy, the next meeting with the Sudanese Ambassador might not include Gin and Tonics, god forbid.
And let us not forget our thousands of Sudanese immigrants who have been prominent in their support for this poor woman from the depths of their beards and slotted dustbin sacks.
Why do we give enemies, cash, support and the chance to take the p### like this, I give up.

I heard that teddy bears are looked on as evil and violent by some in Sudan, and that is why they particularly took offense, I don’t know how true this is.
Them Bears have been evil b%st%rds since some bitch nicked their porridge 😀

And if it’s not right to give Muhammed’s name to an inanimate object, or as I have also heard an animal, why is it right to let people take his name for themselves?
right on target.

Apologies if my commenting offends or irritates anyone, but:
The teacher was jailed because her students named the bear Muhammed, right? If this was an issue regarding the practicing of Islam, shouldn’t these morons be calling for the deaths of the children that actually gave the bear the name? Or is it more convenient to attack the non-Muslim foreigner?
And if it’s not right to give Muhammed’s name to an inanimate object, or as I have also heard an animal, why is it right to let people take his name for themselves?

If this poor woman is shot as the protestors wish, then I think we would be within our rights to decelare the situation as reaching “Storm Shadow time”, and react in kind, wars have been started over less.
Sudan has plenty of oil, so the operation would in the long run pay for itself :dev2: 😀 and plus it would give a chance for aid to reach the long suffering people of darfur who deserve our help.

I was thinking of boots for our brave lads, or the NHS, or the roads, or the list is endless 😀
I see there are now 100s marching through the capital demanding she be shot, denounces the verdict as to lenient
What a peaceful bunch they are.

You wait for the flag burning to come next 😀
We have seen all this before, IIRC last time it was ‘if you call us violent we will kill you’, really pleasant. It is blatantly apparent that a very large tract of Islam is an evil and violent ideology.

Im sure our 112 million pounds of aid or whatever might be better spent someone else.
