As I write this,I’m currently at the Tan Hill Inn,the highest pub in Britain, operating an amateur radio station, with some fellow hams.
What’s this got to do with the CWM you ask?
Well,I’ve just spoke with Peter, who has the call sign for the VA3CWM ham radio station at the museum, and as I was talking to him,the CWH Lanc was just taxiing down the runway for take off.
If your reading this Peter, many thanks for the contact. You made my day.

Hi Terry.
I was unaware that a special event station was taking place at EK,and considering that I read the news on 6m on the air,on alternative Sunday’s,you would think that I should have known!!!!! However,I have just found this: http://www.qrz.com/callsign
The weekend was great at Tan Hill, and the obvious highlight was talking to Peter in Canada at the CWH museum, especailly knowing that the Lanc was about to take off.You can imagine that I was like a dog with 2 tails.

Hello Ken i am a keen Radio Ham ,and i contacted East Kirkby on the Ham Radio on the 80m band a couple of weeks ago ,their callsign being GB2CWP ,CWP being the initials of the Patton brother that was killed in a Lancaster in WW2 ,and they told me they are going to get Just Jane flying again ,within 2 years ,I also contacted GB2DHH they were sitting in the front of a COMET with their Ham Radio Kit ,sunspot cycle 24 should be good ,
cheers Terry

Longest contact today, has been Australia and Japan, which, considering the bands have been diabolical,is not a bad couple of contacts.
The new windows really make a difference. As I sit here in the annexed cottage that we have hired to ‘play radio’ it’s absolutely boiling hot.

What is the longest contact you’ve made with your HAM kit? I know atmospherics plays a big part. Our local SS American Victory Ship Museum hosts a ham club out of the radio room onboard here in Tampa FL. Good luck raching them!
