CWH Lysander flies, 6/9/09

Good news from Mt.Hope; Rob Erdos (of Vintage Wings of Canada and the NRC) test-flew Lysander C-GCWL this afternoon at about quarter past four PM local time. I’d been up at the museum earlier in the day, but had to return to town before the flight happened, as I am working evenings…so have neither a lot of details nor any pix, but thought this would certainly be welcome news here anyway! Others will doubtless be able to chime in with more info and maybe some images…

That’s good news, I’ll resist the temptation to ask the eternal question

For those who were not there to see it in person, here is footage of the THREE Lysanders which flew together at Legends a few years back.

Starts a couple of minutes into the footage.

Fantastic… and could’nt agree more about the striking colour scheme. That should make it popular with enthusiasts and the paying public alike.!

Excellent news about the CWH Lysander’s first flight. The paint scheme (from photos on WIX) is quite striking.

I think a nice long shakedown flight is needed, perhaps escorting the CWH Lancaster to Winnipeg in early August………..

Congratulations to the CWH team for a job well done.

cas

But please remember this
we would prefer to hear support rather than critism about past happenings

Let’s keep this thread on the original topic please.
