Not sure if this is the right place for this but some of you may remember his calypsos on the Tonight programme on BBC in the late 50s. I was wholly unaware of his wartime record as a Lancaster navigator having been taken on and commissioned as one of the first UK citizens from the Caribbean in 1941. He later became a notable actor and outspoken agitator for black rights. He was 90.

Right place
Any news about these heroic Airmen should have a place here! I wish we had been able to collect info and data on these Airmen sooner. This type of news is unfortunately being posted too often. I really would have liked to have heard those first hand accounts that these men could have posted here.

An extremely decent, kind and interesting man.

He was also the voice of Lt. Green in Gerry Anderson’s original “Captain Scarlet & the Mysterons” puppet series.
He had very strong opinions about race issues and apparently he used to get into quite heated debates with Donald Gray who voiced the Col. White character over the then topical Rhodesia issue.
