Cyclists with cameras

I’ve just seen the video of the Cyclist with his Helmet Camera, who was “Cut up” by a White Van, to which he banged on the van shouting at the driver. At the next available stopping point, the van driver got out and knocked a couple of Bells out of him. (No pun intended, although it’s rather good!)
To which, the Van driver got 3 points for bad driving and about £300 fine for bopping him one. The driving was not that bad at all.
Well, this particular cyclist, like a great many of them, was looking for conflict. He had plenty of room, and as usual he thinks he owns the 6 feet from the kerb and woe betide any car driver entering that zone.
The driver should not have even got out of the van, that was his mistake.
The cyclist was a really Weasal faced pencil necked wimp of a man that only a mother could love. The driver was lucky he didn’t snap his head off when he hit him, it would only have taken a slap.
So, just beware, no matter how wrong the cyclists are, they are possibly carrying cameras, and can dramatically make a situation far far worse than it is by shouting at the drivers, braking not hard enough and hitting you, pretending to fall off etc. The Police and Courts will always lean towards the Cyclist when a car is involved…in our anti-car society.
Obviously, there are some people that do not care about cyclists, and what goes around comes around IMO.
But beware of being scammed by artificial accidents created by this sort of thing.
Drivers beware. And cyclists, use the goddam cycle paths and Bus lanes, you fought for them so use them.

Hi Deano. Just watch what your saying,Moderator or not, I take exception to your remark about running over cyclists over 50.I am well over that, and can still ride my bike, a Claud Butler, in a bloody good straight line.

As I said, he was (Is) a Weasal faced wimp of a man, looking for a confrontation to avenge some chip on his shoulder. Banging the hell on hte side of a Van, which would be like an echo chamber and possibly scared the driver into a possible serious error. Cyclist should have been done for provocation. Once driver had got out and lamped him one, it’s an open/shut case.

I could have twotted a cyclist last summer. On tuther side of the road, a very wide load (Static Holiday home on a low loader) passed by, naturally I moved over left to the kerb to protect my wing mirrors. Traffic light changed and I stopped there. Cyclist came up behind, cursed at having to mount the kerb (All 1 inch if it). He then put 2 fingers up and spat on my car bonnet.
I had just spent 6 hours washing, clay baring and waxing it ready for a show. It was better than the Queens mirror!

The pee was boiling I can tell you. Knowing that if I got out, the Red mist would have taken over and my Club Bouncer days would have ruled the day and he would have a set of Shimano Gears up his Starfish.
So I overtook and gave him a wash with all 6 of my screen washer jets plus the intensive headlights wash.

I had to stop further down the road to remove all the water (And his Gob) before it left marks on my car. He didn’t come past me, if he did I’m sure confrontation would have happened and I’d get done for road rage (Because I am the car and he is the minority)

Bet he owns a Caravan aswell!!

that is just the point he was not !!

i presume there was a team of lawyers that worked on it

that came to the same conclusion

you may think you are right but you would obviously loose in court !!

Garbage.
Once he’d hit the idiot, it was very easy to have guilt written all over him.
Especially since Weasal (As he stated in the papers) puts the camera to “On” at every junction or situation where he feels he is about to be impinged.
So, On goes camera, he continues to turn left at about 6 feet from the kerb, the van takes the normal line into the turn and Chinless shouts “Mummy!”. Then he then raises his voice (For the camera of course) to simulate panic and fear. He should have concentrated on road conditions instead of looking for a situation to make a point.
He is the prime example of why Cyclists are detested by other Road users. He is the tarring brush. Yes, “I” know they are not all like him, but I don’t tend to meet the great cyclists because THEY ARE ON THE CYCLE PATHS PROVIDED!

Ah! – thanks for the explanation.:)

Perhaps the fact that he had a camera says something about the cyclist.

You very rudely asked whether I did anything for my father,so I told you.

Well young lady. Looking at post 92, I would say it’s directly aimed at me, I am sorry, but we have all had our burdens in life to cope with, my father died of cancer, my mother also had dementure, and cancer. I had 3 brothers, but it was left for me to do all the hard work, so the sympathy card won’t work with me, with respect, you have a life, GET ON WITH IT.
Like I stated before, on top of my parents, I too have had my medical problems but I get on with life and don’t mind every time I go into Hospitals several times a year, I consider myself lucky to be alive, I make every day count, and sod tomorrow, as I said, you have a life etc.

I too have a son, and he does quite a lot for me, to help me out, he is like that, are you to your father?.

You obviously have taken my post as a personal criticism, when it isn’t.

I’m merely pointing out that people who have to use disability scooters are disadvantaged enough already, without being forced into mainstream traffic.

As for saying that you wouldn’t use one yourself,I rather think you might see it differently if a mobility scooter was a means of keeping you out of a care home.

Your remark that I’ve quoted is both rude and unnecessary, but to answer it,I’m an only child and for many years I’ve done as much as I could for both my parents, thank you.
I’ve coped with my Mum being slowly crippled by a neurological disease for over forty years. In fact during the past year I’ve had to deal with prolonged periods in hospital for both parents, the emotional burden on both of them of Mum being admitted to a nursing home and Dad being left living alone, and Mum’s decline into severe dementia.

In other words, don’t take that tone with me.
