I’ve just seen the video of the Cyclist with his Helmet Camera, who was “Cut up” by a White Van, to which he banged on the van shouting at the driver. At the next available stopping point, the van driver got out and knocked a couple of Bells out of him. (No pun intended, although it’s rather good!)
To which, the Van driver got 3 points for bad driving and about £300 fine for bopping him one. The driving was not that bad at all.
Well, this particular cyclist, like a great many of them, was looking for conflict. He had plenty of room, and as usual he thinks he owns the 6 feet from the kerb and woe betide any car driver entering that zone.
The driver should not have even got out of the van, that was his mistake.
The cyclist was a really Weasal faced pencil necked wimp of a man that only a mother could love. The driver was lucky he didn’t snap his head off when he hit him, it would only have taken a slap.
So, just beware, no matter how wrong the cyclists are, they are possibly carrying cameras, and can dramatically make a situation far far worse than it is by shouting at the drivers, braking not hard enough and hitting you, pretending to fall off etc. The Police and Courts will always lean towards the Cyclist when a car is involved…in our anti-car society.
Obviously, there are some people that do not care about cyclists, and what goes around comes around IMO.
But beware of being scammed by artificial accidents created by this sort of thing.
Drivers beware. And cyclists, use the goddam cycle paths and Bus lanes, you fought for them so use them.
