Having stumbled across what appears to be a superb reference to Czech RAF personnel of WW2, I was wondering if some kind soul kind give me an accurate translation of the following:
“Seznam příslušníků československého letectva v RAF (1940-1945)”
Babel Fish can’t translate Czech, so my assumption is something along the lines of:
“Surnames of Czechoslavakian prisoners ???????? served in the RAF 1940-45”
Would it be political prisoners, a la Dark Blue World as the lists contain all ranks, not just aircrew? I doubt it can be an entire listing of all Czech RAF personnel of WW2!
The website is shown below. To change the list to another letter of the alphabet, replace the last letter of the web address/string with whatever letter you require. Please note that there do not appear to be lists for all letters of the alphabet, which is possibly due to no names of that letter having served, although I’m surprised there are no listings under “F” or “W”.
The home page is that of the Armed Services of the Czech Republic (ACR) and has an English option but I cannot find anywhere on the site, in Czech or in English, which navigates me to these listings – it was just through a potluck Google search that I found it. Any further gen would be appreciated. I shall also post this request on Ross McNeill’s site.

So I was a bit wide of the mark then! Are you familiar with the site and if so, how complete is the information?
It’s the first time I have seen the site. But it looks pretty similar to a book with this kind of listing they have published some years ago. It is quite complete in terms of the list of names, AFAIK (except for the fact that in some cases you have “?” in place of some data). The problem is it is all in Czech, so you get things like a guy’s place of birth: “Viden (Rakousko)” which means (believe me!) “Vienna (Austria)”.

It’s certainly the best Czech resource I’ve found yet.

“Seznam příslušníků československého letectva v RAF (1940-1945)”
is “list of personnel of the Czechoslovak aviation in the RAF (1940-1945)”

How about trying this Czech airmen in the RAF forum?

I’m sure one of its English/Czech users could help you with the PoWs website or the English version of the website.
