Ok, may have been covered before but who is off to Duxford on Sunday? I might be going if all goes to plan but you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men…
Not been around much lately due to other commitments but hopefully will be back here soon on a more regular basis.
I miss this place….
Regards,

I have posted some sandown photos in another thread see you all at Duxford those who are going,I be at Duxford around 12.
By: Chipmunk Carol - 6th June 2004 at 07:59
Well you folk should have been at Sandown yesterday. Including BBMF, we had six Spitfires, one Hurricanes three Mustangs, the P47 and a Lancaster, plus a bundle of other entertaining flights and guided tours around Airframe Assemblies.
And excellent weather. And an excellent commentator who handled an unxpected gap (due to changed schedule) superbly.
I’m hoping that someone from the forum captured the day on pixels, else I’ll have to see what I can get from the lovely people at Deltaweb.co.uk who were there.

Duxfordhawk, have put your number in my mobile (07766 017822), looks like the plan may be to rv at the key publishing stand at midday as per Mike Curril’s post. Feel free to text me, I’ll be wandering round from 11. Should be a good one, the Tornado’s and Magisters were on the pan at Cambridge by this morning, so are definate shows… 🙂

Gnome – Don’t worry mate, we do appreciate, and will try and get as many shots as we can (static only in my case as my camera’s crap). Will post them up asap after the show.

Hello Gnome,
At least you have a Dak in D-Day colours – ZK-DAK!
By: Smith - 6th June 2004 at 00:09
Meanwhile in NZ – far, far away – D Day’s only marginal on the TV much less in the air. I do hope ALL you UK residents fully appreciate just how good you have it. Certainly my take of this forum is that indeed you do. One day I shall make the pilgrimage. But I’ll have the Patterson problem – how to do 1000 things in 10 days.

That’s what I mean – very poor for such a significant event. No BBMF Dakota, in fact NO Dak to represent the dozens that dropped paras and towed gliders and no B-25 Mitchell. Has TFC’s ‘Grumpy’ gone to the States already? Nothing from France to share the commemoration either

I’ll be at Duxford, though I’m sure the OW contingent will have a great day too.
See those who are DXing, there.
Cheers

A friend went to Duxford today to see what will be at the D-Day show. He said it was very poor and there was nothing there! The programme for the flying included three Spits, a Nimrod flypast and not a lot else. Also looked at the line-up at Old Warden and that looks equally disappointing. With admission to both shows costing £18 per head, I think I’ll save my money for Legends and RIAT.

The temptation of those wonderfull top sided passes and correct sun position at Old Warden means thats where I will be.
I Look forward to seeing the Duxford photos from you guys who go.

I’ll be at Duxford for Legends

I actually started a thread on this subject a week ago under the title roll call which plenty viewed but none saw fit to post a reply on.
How about the Key Publishing stand as a meeting place and Midday for a time?
By: dhfan - 1st June 2004 at 00:42
We’re going to give it a miss, although we had originally considered going.
After Duxford and Old Warden in one week, Mrs DHFan is aeroplaned out until Leg Ends.

Torn between Old Warden and Duxford but will probably go with Duxford as it may be the only show I get to there this year.

I will be at Old Warden, would appreciate a opinions of the new parking arrangements at DX, especially from the M11 direction.

Can’t make it now, my museum (I wish) needs me.
By: Arabella-Cox - 31st May 2004 at 17:45
I’ll be there. Will be with family all day though, so may not make it to any gathering….
