Just a quick heads up to point you all in the direction of our recently updated blog on the Lanoe Hawker VC, DSO Memorial, and planned trip to the Somme with Wickenby’s replica Airco D.H.2.
If the links don’t work, just search Wickenby Aerodrome, follow the News tab and scroll down to the blog launch item.
Enjoy.

Happy to report that the DH2 and Chipmunk made it back from Abbeville via Headcorn and Fenland on 02/12 at 1550.
We still have a Cherokee Six and RV10 at Abbeville. Crew weren’t available to hop a ride over with us from Wickenby early yesterday morning. They should be easier to recover though.
Any bright ideas for 2012??

What a great idea! And great to see Mike Russell’s old aircraft getting such good use!
Imteresting reading the website to find out that they nearly ran it dry on a long trip north – we actually did run it dry flying from Duxford one day due to “duff gen” about the size of the fuel tank!

Mmmmm.
I think I might like to participate in that, flying top cover perhaps?
