Da Vinci code Dakota.

Can anyone confirm that the airfield scences that appear in the Da Vinci code were filmed at Dunsfold, I’m pretty sure the well know ‘Aces High’ Dakota G-DAKS is seen in the background.

BTW, go and see the film and judge it for yourself, I enjoyed it. 🙂

Shots involving G-MKSS, including the Police car chase were filmed at Biggin. Some others were filmed at Dunsfold where G-DAKS also appeared in the background. That meant that G-DAKS had to be relocated to Biggin for continuity purposes during the HS125 scenes.

Biggin Tower was internally converted to represent Paris tower and the fight scene was also filmed in Biggin tower.

Tower/Terminal shot Shoreham, “le bourget”. All the rest at Dunsfold. NOT Biggin at all.l

Ah, the beauty and mystery of film making. As we all know, just because it says it’s Biggin Hill doesn’t necessarily mean it was shot at Biggin Hill. A few local newspapers have run stories regarding some scenes of The Da Vinci Code being filmed nearby in Croydon’s Fairfield Halls. So this would lead me to believe that some exteriors may have been filmed at the “Bump” but not all of them.

I’ve just had confirmation from someone who was involved with the filming that all the airfield scences were filmed at Dunsfold and the Dakota is indeed G-DAKS 😀

Well def is supposed to be Biggin Hill and has shot of tower but the rest doesn’t look like it was filmed there. Never been to Dundfold so don’t know. I’ll check the credits again tmrw.

Da Vinci Code Airfield Scenes

Local press down here has been carrying the story that the “Biggin Hill” scenes were actually filmed at Shoreham Airport .

Looked like Biggin Hill to me, not sure about the Dakota but it looked like the former G-DAKS at a brief glance.

Was watching the film couple of nights ago and knew someone would start a thread on the Dakota! 😀

Must be Dunsfold as they get a mention in the credits.

That depends, did the driver of the car they were in have a white Darth Vader style helmet, and get them to the aircraft in under 1 minute 37?

I think that Dakota is still at North Weald, and am unsure as to how active it is at present.
