http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=462038&in_page_id=1770&ICO=NEWS&ICL=TOPART

Six years after this tragic accident, thanks it seems to the lack of cooperation from the French Authorities. 😡

Cheers

I had the great pleasure of flying with this fine gentleman in his beatifully restored AT6D Harvard 111 G-BGOR (14863) out of Headcorn in Sept 1985, this A/C was superbly restored in his garden under a polythene ‘hangar’.
I also visited his home, & workshop in which he restored vintage Rolls Royce cars to perfection, a truly wonderful man, pilot, & engineer so sadly missed.

Hear Hear Dusty One,

we’re restoring a T-6 and BGOR is the benchmark – now based at Sywell…

TT

p.s.

Some time ago i remember seeing a Discovery at a petrol station which had an ‘in memorium’ picture relating to Martin Sargeant with a spit/classic car on the spare wheel cover… i always wondered about that, why who etc.

re

It makes me really angry that in this health and safety obsessed age that a pilot could be killed due to the stupidity of a few idiots. No policy or b*****t could have averted such a shocking accident. Just common sense.

i’d also like to add my voice, altho i live on the other side of the world i was very sadned by this loss of man and machine, one of the most beutifully restored and unique spit’s and from what i’ve heard and read a unique and friendly man,the world is a lesser place because of the loss of people such as this.

I’ll second Richard’s comments. Martin was a fine gentleman aviator and a good friend and I cant believe it’s 6 years ago.
